Display is small and very difficult to see. I would not buy this model again because of this problem. Everything else is excellent for the money. Also the display console is plastic and does not match the quality of the rest of the bike. If anything gets broken it will be the display.

I agree with others that the display is next to impossible to read. Poor feature of this machine. Schwinn could have made this easy to read and watch your progress. Not happy with that feature of the bike.

I bought this at a sporting store. None of the books or advertisements told me that the console display did not have a backlight. I had to call Schwinn to find this out. This makes it almost impossible to read the console. I am using a book light to help. The fan is a joke. Use your breath--it is better for blowing. However, the seat is great compared to other bikes and it is quiet so far. I am disappointed but we put it together already. I'll keep it. I could spend my money on a better bike elsewhere. Good luck.

The instructions on putting this together is precise and very easy. When riding the bike it was very quiet and very smooth.

The worse thing on the bike is the display. This bike sells for over $300 and Schwinn wants to cut corners on the display. I think and a lot of people will agree that the display is very important. if you can't read anything on the display then you should sell the bike for $200 and tie a egg timer on it so you know when to quit after your time is up. I have 20/20 eye sight and I have to get within inches to read what is on the display. I was so excited getting this to exercise but the display on this bike has made me very frustrated and displeased. .

            Monitor Disappointment

            By Monitor blues

            from New York

            Pros

            • Easy to put together
            • It's very quiet
            • It performs well

            Cons

            • Can't read the monitor
            • Disappointing monitor
            • It's not dark enough

            Best Uses

I am very pleased the the bike itself, how quiet it is, and very comfortable pedalling. My only complaint is the monitor which is so light it is next to impossible to read it. I can't see the words while I'm riding, just the squares for the course. It does make a difference!

              Know before you buy

              By Kevin

              from Austin, TX

There is a new model and an old model both called the 220. The old model has a monochrome console shaped like the 240 and is currently being sold in retail. The console lets you enter custom info for one user (weight, age, etc) and it keeps track of your workout. However, this can only be done for 1 person. Anyone else has to use the Guest setting and it does not track your efforts from session to session. Don't know if the new 220 has this same limitation. Otherwise it is a good solid bike that I would recommend, particularly if only one person is going to use it or if you don't want to track workouts for more than one person.
