Comments about Schwinn A20 Recumbent Bike:

I use this bike about 5 days per week as a part of my exercise routine. I am truly a runner and I bought this bike when I was injured. Now that my foot has healed, I still use the bike for cross training. It is a quiet and nice looking bike. The only thing I don't like, is that the display is hard to read. If the lettering were a bit larger and if the screen were back-lit, it would be perfect. The fan is totally useless, but I don't like fans anyway.

Comments about Schwinn A20 Recumbent Bike:

good bike. the few flaws it has are the screen is hard to read, fan is useless, heart rate monitor is sometimes off, and the speed increases as you increase resitance. the resistance speed issue may just have to do with the fact they are trying to relate it with gearing?

Comments about Schwinn A20 Recumbent Bike:

I enjoy the fact that each column on the screen is one minute. I can't get the course exercise to work. I have been riding for a week and have reached level four understand the higher the level the greater the resistance but would like to try the random courses. As mentioned earlier I am using this to recover from a stroke. I think this is great in all respects. Buy the adapter don't need batteries.

Comments about Schwinn A20 Recumbent Bike:

I ride my recumbent every day for 30 minutes. I love the fact that there is a place to put my water bottle and a book. As you might have guessed I tend to read during my ride. I place a fan in front of me and a way I go. The monitor features: RPM, miles, and heart rate are a bonus as well. For a half an hour ride the seat is pretty comfortable. I call this my Princess ride because I prefer riding this way then outside in the heat, traffic, and bustle.
What I don't like is that the monitor takes batteries and I seem to have to replace them often. It is very annoying when the battery juice is getting low and the screen on the monitor is fading away. But alas it is an awesome piece of exercise equipment!
Oh and if you bike atleast 1/2 an hour a day you'll see powerful results! You will have toner, stronger legs. I bought it to strengthen my legs and it is working!

Comments about Schwinn A20 Recumbent Bike:

            Pros:
            - It is nice to ride. Smooth and quiet
            - A good low impact cardio workout
            - The seat is comfortable, although I have not ridden for over 40 minutes yet
            - I find the levels challenging enough to get a good workout
            - The setup was fine and instructions were easy to follow, however I would not like to have to dismantle it and attempt to get it back into the box
            - The pedals with the straps are great
            - It feels like a good quality bike for the price
            - The variety of programs is good
            - Do not see the need to pay more for a higher-end model
            - Not too ugly, but not beautiful to look at either - it is an exercise bike after all

            Cons
            - It is a little larger than expected, since so many people had described it as small. It says 16" wide in the description it is more like 25" wide with the arm rests. Fine for a house or larger apartment
            - The fan is not worth using but a separate fan can be bought for $12. The fan is not a big deal
            - The display can be difficult to read, more because of the fine print (not bold)and angle, rather than the backlit issue
            - My biggest issue with the bike, which knocked off a star, is the angle of the display. This would be the perfect bike for the price if the display was at a more vertical angle. Currently it is impossible to read a book set on the book-holder. Also if the angle was more vertical the display itself would be easier to read. It would have been so easy for Schwinn to fix by using a different attachment!!! I am going to look into changing the attachment.

Only had this for a week so far; but so far so good. Expecting to be much fitter soon!

Comments about Schwinn A20 Recumbent Bike:

Nice solid feel, but console hard to read and I've had to add a room fan. Haven't had it long enough to comment on reliability, but so far so good. Very quiet and very stable! Can easily be moved. Not too difficult to put together (did it myself - 1 woman). All and all for the price, a nice piece of equipment. Don't like the battery idea and have ordered the electric adapter. Will be used daily and I'll update if there is an issue.

How do the 8 resistence levels compare to the 220/240's 16? Is the 8th level the equivalent of the 8th on the 220/240? Or the 16th? (so just less granular?)

I'm used to a hard running workout and want to make sure I can convert that to cycling within a reasonable timeframe each day.
