I bike (on a road bike outdoors) about 25 to 50 miles per week in good weather. I use the Schwinn 240 primarily to keep my fitness up when the weather is too bad to ride outside -- which is much of the winter and some weeks of the summer where I live. It is easy to program, comfortable and runs smoothly. It is exactly what I wanted. After reading some other reviews about setup, we decided to pay the extra money to have setup included, especially since I am 55 and have some arthritis. The setup took the expert about 45 minutes -- I'm sure it would have taken me much longer. Also, when the setup is included you don't have to worry about any hassle if something isn't working, so it seemed like good insurance. [...]

Comments about Schwinn 240 Recumbent Bike:
This is my second 240. After over 20 years of continuous use (four or more times per week), I was satisfied with the quality so ordered another one. Other than difficuly in installing the seat assembly, I'm very satisfied with the new 240.

Comments about Schwinn 240 Recumbent Bike:
Having injured myself years ago, and developing a resulting disability, movement and excercise were not easy to accomplish. I had a bariatric bypass in April, this year. I was facing the need to excercise, so as to facilitate a proper rate of weight loss and regain strength and most importantly, my health. The recumbent bike was the perfect choice. My physician and I discussed the different equipment possibilities, and decided that this bike was the ideal answer. I needed a low impact, cardio rich excercise and it is gentle on my injury. The seat is most comfortable and the range of motion doesn't result in overextending myself, nor pain. It is an integral part of my weight loss program and I cycle at least 30 minutes a day. Since April 7th, this year, I have lost 85 pounds and I am feeling healthier every day. I sleep longer and more deeply, stopped using insulin and look a whole lot better! Thank you for this recumbent bike and making it available to me! I had no idea how truly cherishable my good health was, until it was disappearing. I'm coming back from ill health and lousy shape...and loving every minute of it!

Comments about Schwinn 240 Recumbent Bike:
I love this bike. It is easy to switch between different users and is the most quiet I have come across. Display is great as well. The only complaint I have is on the instructions. The pre- programed training programs are confusing on what the display shows and what the program is when in use. Also there is no real info on how to set up y our custom training. I have not found anywhere on the internet any sites that give examples of custom setups. The pre programed setup 1 is too easy and the second one is kind of hard. I would have liked a better explanation of the programs and also some examples of custom setups to help get all the use of the features of the bike. Other than that it is a great workout machine.

Comments about Schwinn 240 Recumbent Bike:
About an hour or so to assemble but not really that hard if one has some mechanical aptitude.
I had to perform serious on-line reasearch to determine HRM compatibility, finally went on faith with POLAR HRM (standard unit). I am not really familar with HRM so maybe another person would know this (the people at the Sporting Goods store where I bought it were clueless).
Would like updated electronics with USB interface to record sessions.

Comments about Schwinn 240 Recumbent Bike:
I love this bike - it's comfortable to use and light enough to move around the room. My only issue is that the user accounts/digital interface are not as intuitive as other bikes I've used (and I'm a technophile so those things usually comes easy to me). I compared this to many other models of bikes, and feel that this bike is the best value and most practical for my use.

Comments about Schwinn 240 Recumbent Bike:
I love it. My husband has a "bad" knee and wanted something that would be low impact for him. I use it more than he does. I like it because I can use it in the privacy of my own home, and boonus I can watch my "chick" show while I do it. I have lost 16 pounds with diet and 40 minutes a day on the bike in 1.5 months.

So far this is a wonderful bike!! The only thing is going through the process to adjust between me and my husband using it. But I am sure we will get used to it!

The 240 has a more advanced console than the 220. One of the features is the ability to allow for 2 users to set up their personal profiles and to create a custom workout. In regards to adjustability between two users, the 220 and the 240 seat adjustment mechanisms are the same. The 240 does have the ability to adjust console angle.
