Been riding an AIRDYNE since 1981- total of 51,000
miles. Am a double amputee and this is the only machine that I can get a good cardio work out on.
Have recommended to many people similar to me.

I want to complement the Schwinn's customer service. It is the best I have ever encountered. I had a problem after the first 100 mile of use. I contacted customer service. In no time they had a tech at my home to fix the problem. Thank you Customer Service personnel for a job well done. I am one satisfied customer. I will recommend Schwinn to my friends on facebook.

I use the AD6 to get my cardio. On Mon-Wed-Fri I lift weights for strength and on Tues-Thurs-Sat I use the AD6 to get my cardio workout. This mix has kept me in good shape.
The AD6 is quiet enough that when I get up early in the morning I do not have to turn up the TV which would wake my wife up.
Belt drive is far quieter than chain drive!

                        Comments about Schwinn Airdyne AD6:

I started using Schwinn Airdyne during cardiac rehab and liked it better than the treadmill. I was looking for a full body workout to supplement outdoor cycling. Space was also a consideration as it he only space available was the corner of my home office. The Airdyne met all my requirements.
I use the Airdyne for cardio workouts of 20 to 30 minutes . I really like the integration with my Polar heart monitor and how solidly built it is.
If I could change anything it would be additional adjustments of seat and handles. I'm 6'1 and I prefer by seat further back which would also require the handles to be adjustable.
I still love it and I'm very happy with this purchase I am recommending to friends.

I bought this for my own use and had a basic idea of what I wanted. All of the bells and whistles where not something I was interested in so this basic model is more than fine for me. It does not make a lot of noise when I use it and it is as solid and as sturdy as it can be.

Hi Adub! The Schwinn AD6 is most comparable to the older Schwinn AD4 Airdyne. It has a large fan with flat blades, similar to the AD4, whereas the Schwinn Evolution Comp had a smaller fan with cupped blades that deflected the air resistance away from the user rather than back at them.

Is there a way to adjust the tension of the wheel? It seems the bike has only one tension-it doesn't make sense that it is only "one speed".

We see the up arrows and down arrows to indicate the bike can be adjusted to meet the need of the person.

We recently purchased the Airdyne and when we pedal forward the wind blows away from the rider toward the front of the bike. We have to pedal backwards to get the air flow toward the rider. I don't think this is correct and don't know what to do about it.

Hi, my bike beeps every ten minutes or so. The display is set to zero. Is this a message of some sort? What does it need? Thanks.

It may be a low battery indicator. If replacing the battery doesn't solve it, then please call and we'll do some troubleshooting. Our number is 800-605-3369 and our hours of operation are Mon - Fri, 6 am to 5 pm, PST. Thank you.

I was looking at one of these AD6 exercise bikes and the knob on the support above the wheel didn't seem to be connected to anything ... it looked like it should adjust the tension on the wheel but the only thing I could see below the knob when turned was a short piece of metal with a L shaped end. Is something missing? How is the tension adjusted? Would it be possible to get a diagram of how that knob is supposed to be connected? Thanks
