I am over 50, post hysterectomy so all those changes are happening to me including weight gain and it doesn't want to come off. My husband bought this for me after I developed bone spurs. Exercise is difficult when walking is very painful! He put it together quickly and I was exercising regularly in no time. I feel better and the weight is coming off. I love my new bike. Plus I can use it when it starts snowing!

                • Q:

I've already purchased this bike. Everything works great, but the software implementation of the USB record upload leaves something to be desired. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong?

I've successfully uploaded my workout once to schwinnconnect.com. After the very first time, on subsequent attempts, schwinnconnect does not recognize the upload (or maybe it is, and the data that is recorded to the USB drive is stale)

                  Question is:
What steps are necessary for the schwinnconnect upload to work?
                  I'll start.
                  (1) Finish workout.
                  (2) Find the Save to USB screen and on the OK prompt, select Yes.
                  (3) Remove USB stick when display prompts to Remove.
                  (4) Verify file on USB stick is newly created/modified (current file modified date appears correct)
                  (5) Use upload tool on schwinnconnect.com.

Do I need to clear the data after each workout in order for the USB upload to function correctly? I believe that's the only thing I haven't tried yet.

                  Thanks.

                  RESISTANCE BUTTON ISSUE

I have a question... I can't figure out the resistance buttons located above the numbered quick resistance buttons. I can hit the down buttons to make the resistance less, but if i hit up, the resistance doesn't increase.

I can only increase the resistance with the quick buttons, not the normal "resistance buttons" located to the right and left of the lower display screen... any advice? It has to be user error.

Hi Dave! The numbered buttons along the sides of the console for the Schwinn 170 Upright Bike are the Quick Resistance buttons (under Console Features on page 17 in the owner's manual). To change resistance during your workout you may either use the Increase/Decrease buttons to change resistance incrementally or by pressing one of the Quick Resistance buttons to quickly change to that specific resistance setting (see page 25 in the owner's manual). For your convenience, I've attached a PDF copy of the owner's manual below.
