The instructions for assembly and use of this bike are [...] virtually useless. Those illustrations that exist (online only, enclosed are non existent) are too small and lack sufficient detail, and are inaccurate as this model changes. Parts are poorly identified, and there are confusing extra parts. The number (7 or 8) of special tools needed are daunting for the average homeowner. Not even the serial number is findable from the enclosed "manual"! And, when you do find (online) where it is located, it is unreadable without a magnifying glass, and does not fit in the registration card boxes! If you are not a mechanic, do not buy this otherwise solid exercise bike.

Comments about Schwinn Airdyne Evolution Comp:
I was in a weight management program and I was introduced to the Airdyne Evolution at their gym. Although I did not like exercise bikes, I had this love/ hate relationship with the Airdyne. The Airdyne is a very challenging machine for me and who doesn't like a challenge? By Purchasing my Airdyne, I've made a much needed investment toward my health and well-being.

Comments about Schwinn Airdyne Evolution Comp:
This is my third Airdyne and my second Evolution Comp. Using the saddle seat and gel/foam supplements, I can ride it 2-3 hours every morning while I catch up on my favorite TV shows. My right leg has never quite recovered from a tibia plateau fracture, and without my morning workout, I would be limping all day. But with each iteration, the computer/timer/mileage device becomes more unnecessarily complex to the point that it is now unusable. However, the bike is fabulous and I wouldn't want to ever be without it.

Comments about Schwinn Airdyne Evolution Comp:
I am 55 and have had this for 10 years. I use it during cold weather 4-5 time per week. I burn between 400-500 calories in a 40-50 minute workout. I've had other machines and this is superior for me. small space requirement and movability make it perfect for extra room. Very solid and stable.

Comments about Schwinn Airdyne Evolution Comp:
Perfect for my needs. I owned an airdyne-style bike years ago and rode it until it disentegrated. This time I wanted a genuine Schwinn Airdyne. Yes the Schwinn is loud, but no louder than any other airdyne-style. Face the facts, they are all fairly loud by their very nature and a buyer should know this before purchasing one. The quality is much better than my last bike which I expected it would be, and it is more stable and comfortable. I'll agree that the assembly instructions provided are too small to read, but the retailer I purchased from provided great instructions and there are plenty of usable instructions on the web. The assembly did require several different tools, but luckily I had every tool required (if you don't have a 7/8th's wrench a 22mm works perfectly). I took my time and it was a piece of cake - no missing parts and all the components perfectly aligned - I had no problems at all with the assembly. Thus far I have been 100% pleased with this product. It has the quality I expected and I should get many years of use.

My wife and I are both 70 and we stay fit with our home gym in the winter and with bikes and kayaks in the summer. This Airdyne is well designed and built and we will discuss it more when we are 80. It will get us there.

Comments about Schwinn Airdyne Evolution Comp:
The Evo Comp is a big part of my cardiac rehab program at a local hospital. Bought one to supplement that program and provide a means for my spouse to exercise. This is the best device for a complete, full body workout, and it's built like an army tank.

Comments about Schwinn Airdyne Evolution Comp:
Always hated exercise bikes. Decided to try the Evolution Comp because my brother had an older airdyne and I liked it. Better than I had hoped. I have lost 35 lbs in about 6 months and ride almost every day 12 to 30 minutes. It is good workout, though it is still very noisy.

What is the user height range for this model?Asked on 3/26/2011 by Larry from Evans, GA1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Our exercise bikes are designed to accommodate the widest range of users possible, generally between 4’10” and 6’4” in height (this assumes an average torso-to-leg length ratio). Since not everyone is proportioned the same, some users at the limits of this height range may have difficulty using the bike.Answered on 3/30/2011 by RC from Nautilus WHQ, Vancouver, WA

Q:
I'm having the same problem, I can hardly pedal it. What's wrong, how do you lower the tension?Asked on 2/7/2011 by Pismotam from Bakersfield, CA1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Hello – The Airdyne products rely on wind resistance, which is generated by pedaling or moving the arms of the unit. The harder you pedal, the more resistance the unit has. Typically at lower RMP’s the unit should be relatively easy to pedal. But as you pedal faster, the resistance increases and the unit is harder to pedal. If for some reason your unit is hard to pedal at lower RPM’s, please contact customer service to ensure that your product is working correctly. Customer service can be contact at 1-800-605-3369.Answered on 2/8/2011 by Rick from NLS_WHQ
